THE POTTERY FOX

Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for supporting handmade pottery! Every piece is thoughtfully crafted by hand, which means slight variations are part of what makes each one unique. Below are answers to some of the most common questions. Are your pieces dishwasher and microwave safe?
Yes! All finished pottery is made from durable stoneware and is food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe unless otherwise noted. To help your pieces last for years, avoid sudden temperature changes.
Are all of your pieces handmade?
Yes. Every item is wheel-thrown or hand-built, then trimmed, glazed, and fired by hand. Because of this, no two pieces are exactly alike.
Will my piece look exactly like the photo?
Each piece is one of a kind. While I do my best to create consistent forms and glaze finishes, slight variations in shape, size, and color are a natural part of handmade pottery.
Can I place a custom order?
I occasionally accept custom commissions depending on my schedule. If you have an idea in mind, please reach out through the contact page to discuss availability.
Do you offer local pickup?
If local pickup is available, it will be listed as a shipping option during checkout.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Ready-to-ship items are typically packed and shipped within 3–5 business days. Custom orders have longer turnaround times, which will be discussed before your order is confirmed.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Please contact me within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damaged item and packaging. I’ll work with you to find the best solution.
Do you accept returns?
Because each piece is handmade, I generally do not accept returns for reasons such as slight variations in size, shape, or glaze. If there’s an issue with your order, please get in touch and I’ll do my best to make it right.
How should I care for my pottery?
Your pottery is made for everyday use. While it’s dishwasher safe, hand washing can help preserve the finish over time. Avoid exposing your pottery to sudden temperature changes, such as moving it directly from the freezer to a hot oven.
